Dear fellow Rotarians,

We've had some very busy Rotarians helping out at the Seamons Court property again this weekend.  A huge THANK YOU to Neil Fullard and the team of labourers on Saturday -
Terry, Hans, John Peck, Phil, Janet, Colin and to Val for delivering the morning tea once again.
Thanks also to Ken & Lynn for working with Neil and Terry today.

The house is certainly looking very different from the first day I saw it.  Rotarians certainly make a difference in many ways!  It's been so rewarding working together on this project, once the painting is finished there will be a final clean up before the floor coverings are done. Neil has organised with the painter to start work tomorrow.
I'm sure we'll see the benefit of all the hours of hard work when the house is back on the market and especially when the property is sold.

A busy weekend was also had by Brian, Cherie and Peter Faulkner who attended the Disaster Aid 'DART' (Disaster Aid Response Team) training weekend.

This Tuesday we have James Seeary from Operation NewStart coming along to present to us.
Operation Newstart is an innovative re-engagement program for young people aged 14-16 attending Victorian State Schools who are at significant educational risk. Many are at risk of expulsions, have failed to attend school regularly and are at risk of not completing their secondary education.

We also have Ron Brooks from District 9810 talking about the UNICEF foreign coin project.
PLEASE bring along and donate all those coins you've saved from overseas trips.

SAVE THE DATES:

Greg de Moore will be our Keynote speaker.

On a final note, our next Bunnings BBQ is on Saturday June 24th (Dandenong South).

Don't forget to RSVP on ClubRunner for this week's meeting, see you there.

Kind regards,

Leanne

Club Night - 6th June 2023
On Tuesday night our guest speaker was Ari from Windermere. Windermere is an independent community service
organisation working to help those who need it most. They began more than 150 years ago, and have
been working to create a stronger, more connected community.

Their aim is to provide programs and services within the primary areas:
Family wellbeing, childhood development, education and support, assistance and support for victims,
of trauma, assault, homelessness and community strengthening.

The Club made a donation out of the proceeds of this years Car Show event.

House Working Bee
This weekend we had another Club working bee at the Club's house which we are planning to sell. Led by Neil and Terry, the Club
is putting the house up for sale.

This weekend the focus was on the back garden, cleaning inside including walls, ceilings, kitchen, windows and removing
the carpet underlay.

A big thanks, to Terry, Hans, Janet, John P, Neil, Phil, Leanne, Colin, Ken and Lyn and Val for the morning tea. The house is starting to
look good.

Emergency Services Community Awards
This program was initiated by Rotary in NSW 8years ago and has been very successful. The
program aims to recognise  Emergency Service workers who are doing good work in the
community and espousing the Rotary motto 'Service Above Self". We are rolling this
program out in Victoria with all 5 Districts involved. D9820 has been forming a RESCA
Committee with a representative from each Cluster and D9820 now have representation
on the state wide RESCA Victoria Committe. Please contact D9820 Chair Kerrie Schmidt
if you are interested.
