There is a great talk at this Tuesday's meeting which should be compulsory for so many out there (especially being so close to ANZAC day)! According to LinkedIn the speaker has been working on the Rats of Tobruk Project since 2009 and is sure to bring some heartfelt stories from the age of conscription and that battle in particular.

Monday 6th May 2024 is the Road Safety Education Workshop (RYDA) being held at Sandown Greyhound Racing Track for Dandenong High School. Several of our members will be there to help manage the day and the RYDA organisation has recruited some additional volunteers from other clubs.

Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds (RORP) and the team from our Rotary Club will be at it again with two more playgrounds this financial year. Dates envisaged being 29th or 30th May as well as 4th or 5th June and appears Ben's car is suitable so we welcome Ben to the team. We can always do with more people familiar with the process as many members are often vacationing so come along (with gloves) and enjoy the fellowship and loading the trailer.

Kind regards,
Terry

MAY is YOUTH SERVICE MONTH and how appropriate it is for our club with the newly formed Lyndale Secondary College Interact Club.

On Friday of this week, Leanne will be attending the Lyndale Secondary College
Interact meeting once again and the planning of the Celebration Ceremony will begin.

The amazing Interact Club support staff
On Sat 27 April 2024 8 members of the club assisted the Rotary Club of Casey with parking assistance to ensure a great day was had by all that attended the Holland Festival at Caribbean Gardens.

While there was all things Dutch people moved through the various historic exhibitions (and even those dressed in battle costumes and firing muskets)

Rotary Fellowships
As some of our members may be aware there are a number of golfers in our Club who play in an annual golf tournament run by the Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotary, which is an offshoot of the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotary. The Golfing Fellowship is one of over one hundred Rotary Fellowships throughout the world with over 57,000 members in over 150 countries.

The Fellowships are international groups of people that share a common passion and who meet either face to face or on various digital platforms. They are affiliated with Rotary but have their own administrative structures and plan and oversee their activities and events. They can be sporting and recreational activities, hobbies, professions, and cultural identity. There are drink related Fellowships for Wine, Beer, Gin, Whisk(e)y and Coffee Lovers, sporting Fellowships for Golf, Cricket, Badminton, Cycling and Fishing and many others like Beard and Moustache and Magicians. For a full list visit rotary.org/fellowships

The Annual Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotary (AGFR) tournament was held this year in Busselton WA. Our Peter Faulkner was there for the tournament which started on Sunday April 14th and concluded with a presentation dinner on Friday April 19th.
