Tuesday 14 May meeting due to low member registration / attendance was held in the board room and scheduled talk cancelled. Barbar was able to provide an update on the due diligence investigation of a potential project in Pakistan. Unfortunately the due diligence investigation meant that the project will not proceed. It was a great example of project management in that many cases, proponents cannot stop a project when it should be. A big thank you to Barbar for the investigation was expressed.
Barbar then outlined his recent visit to Pakistan along with the recent history and government structures and cultural implications. It was a highly interesting presentation and discussion.
Planning for the next two playground harvests has progressed and hope to provide dates at next weeks meeting.
Roy Francis will be our guest speaker this Tuesday 21 May 2023 and will talk about the work he does with the cancer council for prostate cancer and can speak first hand about his journey of surviving it. The club has historically done a lot in this area including the proceeds from a house (that Neil Fullard) built and sold for the purchase of specialist equipment in this area. Please register on the link to the left.
Kind regards,
Terry
Monday and Thursday saw the completion of the works to construct and install seats at Dandenong Primary School by Howard, Hans and the team.
Members should have received an email that Rotary International President 2023-2024 Gordon R McInally and Professor Patrick McGorry will be addressing a luncheon at the RACV Cape Schanck Resort on Sunday 2 June 2024 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. It should be interesting and hopefully with robust discussion.
A huge reminder that we need to be present for the inaugural changeover to District 9815 (combining 9820 and 9810) which our own Colin Byron will be installed as Governor.
The Changeover will be held on 29th June 2024 at 6.30pm for 7.00pm at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, 40 Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham and you can book HERE. You will be asked which club you are from and we will all be sitting together so book now and do not worry about making up a table.
