President's Message
A message from Secretary Leanne, on behalf of
Interim President John Peck

Last week's meeting was well attended, with plenty of discussions taking place.
The 'open forum' provided the opportunity for members to ask questions,
and offer their opinions.
Everyone in attendance completed survey forms which we hope will provide insight for
future Club experiences.

Thank you to Kam Pow for organising the Chinese New Year Fundraising Event and celebration at the Shangri La Inn on Saturday night.
The most exciting part of the night was the announcement regarding the funds raised so far:
$9,755.00

We had set a high target of $12,000 and still hope to achieve this amount.

If you weren't able to attend and would like to make a donation to support the
Monash Children's Cancer Centre
funds can be transferred to the Charity Account

BSB: 013 312       Account Number:  305698868

Please remember to RSVP, preferably on Club Runner for this Tuesday night's meeting.

I'd like to get our Committee's sorted as soon as possible so please think about which
Committee you would like to be a part of, we'll be taking names on Tuesday night.

See you there!

Cheers
John Peck

Tuesday 20th February meeting, an 'open forum'.
Saturday 24th February:
A very enjoyable and successful
Chinese New Year Fundraising event for
the Monash Children's Cancer Centre.
Thanks to Kam & Christine Pow for organising
this wonderful event.
Thanks also to Rotary Club of Box Hill Central's President Reg Ellery and members for
 booking 3 x tables
and joining us at this very special event.

More than 100 people gathered for a great cause!
$$$$$$$$$
Yee Sang salad,
ready to be tossed together for luck and prosperity.
Seventeen RCGDEH's Rotarians & partners had a fun night.
How many dragons do we have in our club?
We may even have someone born in 1940.
The Dragon symbolizes power, good fortune and strength.
The 'LION dance' - performed by Kam Pow & John Peck (rear end), received 3 red packets from
3 tables, totalling $215.
A dance well done Kam & John!

The Lion dance is an important ritual in Chinese tradition, believed to bring good luck and
drive away evil spirits on auspicious occasions.
We're in for a GREAT year!
VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED
Paul Harris
We can all make a difference!
How far will Hans and the team ride?
